Ascorbic Acid
Vitamin C
"The gold standard brightening active."
What it is
About Vitamin C
Vitamin C — in the form of pure Ascorbic Acid — is the most extensively researched brightening active in dermatology. At 15%, our formula sits at the clinically validated sweet spot: potent enough to deliver measurable results, stable enough to remain effective throughout the product's shelf life.

Key Benefits
What it does for your skin
Brightens dull skin
Ascorbic Acid inhibits the enzyme tyrosinase, which is responsible for melanin synthesis. By reducing melanin production, it gradually lightens hyperpigmentation and restores a natural luminosity to the skin.
Fades dark spots & hyperpigmentation
Clinical studies show that topical Vitamin C at 10–20% significantly reduces the appearance of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, sun spots, and melasma with consistent use over 4–12 weeks.
Antioxidant protection
As a potent antioxidant, Vitamin C neutralises free radicals generated by UV exposure and environmental pollution — preventing oxidative stress that accelerates skin ageing.
Stimulates collagen synthesis
Ascorbic Acid is a co-factor in collagen biosynthesis. Topical application has been shown to increase collagen production in the dermis, improving skin firmness and reducing the appearance of fine lines.
Enhances SPF efficacy
When layered under sunscreen, Vitamin C provides an additional layer of photoprotection, boosting the effectiveness of your SPF against UV-induced damage.
The Science
The science
Ascorbic Acid works through two primary mechanisms: direct inhibition of tyrosinase (reducing melanin production) and scavenging of reactive oxygen species (ROS). At the cellular level, it also upregulates the expression of collagen type I and III genes, making it one of the few topical actives with both anti-pigmentation and anti-ageing evidence.
Ascorbic Acid is inherently unstable and oxidises on exposure to light, air, and heat. Our formula uses a stabilised delivery system with Ferulic Acid and Vitamin E as antioxidant co-factors, significantly extending active stability and enhancing efficacy.
Our Concentration
15%
The clinically validated range for Vitamin C is 10–20%. Below 10%, results are minimal. Above 20%, the risk of irritation increases without proportional benefit. Our 15% formulation is the optimal balance of efficacy and tolerability.
How to Use
Apply 3–4 drops of the Daily Glow Serum to clean, dry skin each morning. Vitamin C works best when applied before moisturiser and SPF. Avoid mixing directly with retinol — use Vitamin C in the AM and retinol in the PM.
